We have had a great few weeks. It has been busy as usual, but it has been a lot of fun.
Pinewood Derby happened during my blog sabbatical (that is what I am calling the weeks that I missed updating the blog. It sounds a lot better than my slack off time.) Jordan had a great car and was very happy with how well it raced. I think that we have finally found the secret. It is that the weight needs to be inside of the car, not strapped to the outside. We came up with the idea of putting BB’s in the car. Dave drilled some holes, we filled it with BBs and then filled the rest of the hole with glue. It worked out really well, so well in fact that Jordan got second place in the races for the Bear and Wolf Dens. He was super excited!!

Mama Lou came to see us the same weekend as the pinewood derby. We love it when Ma Lou comes!
On Sunday night, Jordan decided to try to make us some “refreshments.” He came up with this concoction all by himself…it was really good too. He named them Sailboats. They were apple slices, with peanut butter, topped with two mini-marshmallows in the middle and two raisins on the sides.
He was very proud of his creation.
Lets see, what else? Oh yeah, the kid with the braces, Kamron, has already broken a bracket off by eating something he wasn’t supposed to eat. Man-O-Man!! I was a little upset with him, but, it seems he has learned his lesson. Grrrrrr….he better have anyway.
The boys had a lot of fun hanging out with dad. They wrestled in the living room floor….All five of them. Even Brandon got in on the action. I wasn’t fast enough with the camera to get pictures of him in the malay, but it was so funny watching them all be little boys. It was really cute.
Peyton has also inherited an Incredible’s Pajama set from when Jordan was his age. He loves it. He calls it his super hero ‘jamas. He wants to wear them and wear them. We put them on clean for bed, he wears them the whole next day (he refuses to change them and it isn’t a big issue for me as long as they are not covered in muck) and then wears them to bed the next night. I do make him change his clothes at some point on the second day…I do have my standards. But he LOVES them!
At some point in the week, the big boys decided to take the camera outside and try to get some action shots of them playing basketball. Jordan took pictures of Kamron dunking the ball and Kamron got pictures of Jordan’s under-the-basket hook shot.
The following weekend, we went out to Umstead State Park and hiked a trail in the search of quality time together and birds for the cub scout requirements. The whole time we were out (we hiked about 3 miles) we only saw one bird…Go figure. But we did find some of that quality time. The babies loved it. They both had lots of fun looking at everything and picking up sticks to use as both walking sticks and bats to hit trees with as we passed them.

This past weekend, we went to see Papa Ray and Mama Frances at Jordan Lake. We really enjoyed spending time with them. They came today along with JR and the girls to have Sunday Dinner with us. I had a great time. I especially enjoyed all the adult conversation. But alas, I forgot to take pictures this weekend. We will have a lot of pictures for you soon. We are going on vacation and traditionally take at least a thousand pics or so. I will spare you and only share the best.
