Family Pictures….Hooray!

Well…we finally were able to get some family pictures done this year.  It has been a while and this was actually only our second time ever getting a family photo done professionally.  The first was when Kamron was only about 5 months old.  Christy Schnegelberger, who is awesome, did our photos this year (you can check out her work at csheritage.blogspot.com.)  While I don’t have all the pictures yet and don’t have an individual of Peyton, I wanted to post these so everyone could get a sneak peek.  Brandon seriously did not want to look at the camera thus he is not looking in this particular family photo.  Hopefully she was able to get one of him looking, but chances are someone else wasn’t.  That is the risk you run when you try to get a family pic for a family of 6.  Enjoy…

Baseball Season is in Full Swing!

Baseball season is here again. It is alot of fun to watch the boys play. Each year we see them get better and better...

Jordan is playing for the Act Electric Yankees. He has a great coach who teaches the basics and respect for the game and for your teammates. So far this season we have seen Jordan hit at least two doubles and get several RBIs. One game he was able to hit a 2 RBI double. It was really cool. He has started catching pop flys and making plays at 2nd base. He really enjoys the game and wants to practice alot. He will continue to get better.


Kamron plays for the Cubs (I can't remember their sponsor) and also plays 2nd base. He is also getting lots better. His coach is a great coach. He also teaches the basics, but is very organized and runs great drills. The pickle drill is one that I have never run in practice, but Kamron and the other boys are getting really good at it. Last week Kamron his a 3 RBI triple and then stole home on the very next play. It was really great and I could not have been happier for him. The next time he was up the other teams coach yelled "Big Hitter!!" Jordan was so excited that he said that, I think he was impressed with his big brother.


Peyton is being himself and loving the game. He was standing behind the plate and told Kamron to "Hit it Mammon" He really loves baseball. It is his favorite sport. Last season he would spend time squatting behind the plate, with one hand behind his back and holding a baseball glove, just like the catcher does. This year he is perfecting his pitching wind up. We have some pretty good pictures in a series of his pitching technique. I think that baseball is one of the wonderful things about having boys!!!









Jordan found 4 four-leaf clovers in our yard in one day and I found two on two different days...maybe that is why the boys are playing so well.

Plane Pull...

Okay, so I couldn't figure out how to get the formatting right on this so I could include it with the 5K posting so it gets it's own posting....

David participated in this year's Plane Pull. It is a fund raising event for the Special Olympics. David was able to raise $1200 this year. GO DAVE!! His team did pull the plane, though not in record time. They had a lot of fun though, or at least it seemed like they did. :o)

They boys had a lot of fun, too. There were bouncy houses and slides. Mama Lou let Peyton play as long as he wanted. He only stopped to watch dad pull the plane.

David was in this years tv commercial advertising the Plane Pull. It was shown on Fox here in Raleigh and you see David when she says "flex your muscles" (which I think was funny!) The commercial is video from last year's plane pull. See the video below. Hope you enjoy.

We did a 5K!!!

We did a 5K on April 25 and we actually finished it. We didn't train for it, and Mama Lou didn't know she was doing it until Friday night. The course was a there and back course which meant that after the halfway point you went back the way you came. There was a water station at 1/4 of the way and at halfway (the turn around point) and then you passed the 1/4 mark water station again when you were 3/4 of the way. Mary Lou and I walked the course and pushed the babies in the strollers. We did well and kept a pretty steady pace. David and Jordan ran together. Kamron ran by himself.

Kamron was the first one to finish in our family, 22nd in the race overall, with a time of 24 mins, 12 secs. I couldn't believe he did so well. He passed Mama Lou and me at the 1/4 mark water station. He was 3/4 of the way done and we had gone only 1/4 of the way!! I was really proud of him.

Jordan was the next to finish with a time of 34 mins, 43 secs. (I'm not sure of what place he finished in.) He also did much better than I expected. He finished ahead of David, who was next in the family to finish but he didn't really run the whole thing. He started later than the boys (with me and Mary Lou) and then decided to catch up to Kamron and run with him. He didn't catch Kamron, but he cut across to be with Jordan. So boo on not doing the full race, but yay for being a Great Dad and spending some time with his boy!!!

Mama Lou and I were the last to finish in our family, we were in something like 930th and 931st place, with a time of 56+ minutes. The fact that we finished with out falling out is impressive to me. Of course Mary Lou did well, she probably walks more than 3 miles every day at work. But I was truly shocked that I didn't have to stop and rest several times, not even once. It was amazing to me!! So...

Hooray for the Heath Family for finishing the 5K and without complaining!

More Disney Pictures

Okay, so I found a few more pictures that I loved. In this one, Peyton is riding his first ever roller coaster. He is in one of the front cars with David. I think this one was called Goofy's Barnstormer....I think.

This one is a picture of me and Peyton in the race car I described in my last entry. He was having fun.

And here are the children who will eventually grow up to have "thrill issues" (as Kamron describes it.) They had a ball on this one and I couldn't begin to tell you how many times they rode this one. This is the same ride that I rode, reluctantly, and regretted instantly. On all the rides they take photo's of you, at a point that is usually the scariest, to sell to you for $25 or so after you get off the ride. Dave said that of all the pictures, we should have bought that one, "because Mom looked terrified! Ha, Ha, Ha!" Well, of course, I really thought that was funny, okay so not really.

Disney Vacation

We had so much fun on our Disney Vacation. Ma Lou went with us and we loved having her there. We didn't tell the boys we were going anywhere until 2:30am the morning we left. Even then we only told them we were going somewhere that would be a surprise. Once we got to Georgia (about halfway) we ate breakfast at a Shoney's and told them where we were going. Kamron, I think, was thinking that it was not going to be fun. I think he was thinking that Disney was for babies, but he ended up having fun. Jordan seemed genuinely excited.

Rollercoasters were by far the favorite things to do on our trip. David wanted to do nothing but rollercoasters, I think. We spent our first day there riding Space Mountain the few other rides they were willing to fit in around Space Mountain rides.

The babies seemed to have fun, too. Brandon was especially good. I wasn't sure how it would go with him being so young, but he did great. He enjoyed going on the few rides that he sat with me on, mainly for the visual stimulation. Peyton really enjoyed rides. He would say that he wants to "ride." He really liked the rides. He was also very good. He had to wait for us alot, sitting in the stroller. He got to ride the race cars that are right next to Space Mountain. He loved it. There was a metal guide rail on the track so the cars would follow the track even if not steered. So I let him steer the car and I think he thought it was really cool. He didn't want to get out of most rides, but when he realized we could take another turn he would willingly go and get in line again.

Jordan was especially excited about the rollercoaster. The only thing that slightly scared him was the Dinosaur ride that was a little scary for even adults. There were alot of animated dinosaurs inside a dark tunnel, it was loud and the premise was that a t-rex was trying to get us. We weren't prepared for how frightening it could be and therefore Jordan wasn't either. I ended up covering up his eyes until it was over. Other than that he was fearless, the steeper the drop on the roller coaster, the bigger his grin was when it was over. He didn't do it on the first ride on a coaster, but on almost each re-ride, he held his arms up and yelled. It was really cool to see him have so much fun. He was tall enough to ride everything and rode it all. Fearless is he.

Kamron seemed to love the roller coasters too. He also like the space oriented rides in Epcot alot. It was right up his alley. I think he really enjoyed the ride in the Epcot ball. It was a futuristic ride that talked about world history and what might happen in the future. He also seemed to like Mission Space, although I think this ride made Ma Lou feel pretty sick.

They boys take after their dad and have some serious thrill issues. Their favorite rollercoasters were the Rockin' Rollercoaster, where you travel from a dead stop to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds., and Expedition Everest, where you think that the track is really broken on your first ride. You ride around a bend and come to a stop infront of broken tracks, you literally cannot go anyfurther. But then you ride in some spirals, in the dark, backward from that point, come to another stop and then go forward again on a new track that you were not on before.

They actually talked me into going on the Tower of Terror, where you are dropped 4 stories or something crazy like that. Ma Lou rode it and told me that it wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be. The boys kept saying that it was like jumping on a trampoline. So I told them I would ride it with them and they held me to it. I was terrified. I really was. I can't believe I trusted what they said to be true.

All in all it was a great trip and was a great value as far as price goes. We are so glad we were able to go.
