Snow Days!!

Okay, so the obvious highlight to our week was the SNOW!  We really got some.  It was 60 degrees on Thursday, and absolutely beautiful.  The temperature dropped steadily on Friday and by 8 PM Friday night, we were getting snow.  So today you get a lot of pictures of our snow fun.

Fang Boy

Peyton gave the snow a ‘thumbs up’ and yes, he thought he was ready to go out and play in the snow without pants on.  He was so cute.  He played around the house like that for an hour or so.  He asked every 15 minutes if we could go out and play in the ‘no.’

Brandon wanted to be outside but wasn’t sure he wanted to wear all the stuff that he had to wear.  He had a hard time keeping his balance…

A good time was had by all.  A special thanks this week to Kelley (Nick and Abby’s Mom) for the pictures of our big guys in the snow.  Our boys spent the majority of the weekend at her house, she has the patience of Job.

Belly boo-boo's and Hot Chocolate Milk

This week was pretty uneventful.  We did take a tour of one of the local charter schools in the area and put in an application for the boys to go there.  They do a lottery system, so you have no idea if you will be able to get in there.  I will keep you posted and let you know something in Feb or March.

Our week started out with Peyton telling me his tummy hurt.  He needed, first, a band-aid for his tummy, and then some “hot cocate milk” (hot chocolate has become a new favorite of his.)  I, of course, had to take a picture because it was too cute to pass up.  One was a normal picture, but this one makes me laugh, so it is the one you get to see.

 

The boys had Monday off of school.  They went to the park and played a game of Football with a couple of families at church.  They had tons of fun.  We had piano, as usual on Tuesday, followed by the open house at the charter school.  Wednesday was scout night…the babies and I went to the library to pass the time.  Thursday, Dad went to the temple with the youth, the rest of us hung out at home by the fire.  Friday Kamron and David both had camping trips, although not together.  Kamron was in Aurora, NC in a farm house (good thing, too, because he forgot his sleeping bag.)  David camped with the 14 and 15 yr olds at Umstead.  He said it was the best camp sleeping he had done in a long time (33 degrees that night.)  Dave took a few pictures, but he wasn’t in any of them.  This is my favorite….

Saturday, Jordan had a basketball game and unfortunately they got their first loss of the season.  It was a really close game.  Jordan and his team felt like to refs were to blame, but isn’t that always the case when  you lose.  Jordan’s coach gave them a pep-talk after the game.  He was also nice enough to call and leave Jordan a phone message about how well he had played in the game and thanked him for being a consistant player that they could count on.  It was pretty cool of him to do so.

After the game, we went to McDonalds for lunch and the kids had fun playing on the playground.  Jojo was a big helper with the little ones.  I have included some of the pictures from the game, and from the  playground (I love taking pictures at playgrounds because of the full color back grounds you get!!)  I also have included one picture we took this morning on the way to church.  My boys are so cute (even if I do say so myself!)  Until next week….

 

Down by the “river”

This week was a little laid back for the Heath family.  Both of the boys had basketball games (Kamron’s team lost to a team much bigger than they were, Jordan’s team won against a pretty good team.)  We had some better weather toward the end of the week and the babies and I were able to get outside and enjoy the weather.  And BTW, Brandon is doing much better!!

BABIES…PEYTON AND BRANDON

While we were outside on Friday, enjoying temps in the 60’s, the boys rode their new “bikes” and then we went exploring in the back yard.  THEY LOVED IT!!  We found lots of leaves, pinecones, rocks, sticks (even sticks we could break) and the “river” in the backyard.  The “river” is really a little creek.  Dave calls it a ditch, but I don’t like to think I let my boys play in ditches. :o)  It always has water running through it and it leads to a waterfall further down “stream.”  It definitely doesn’t qualify as a river, or a stream so I have settled on the word creek.  But I digress…The babies loved playing in the water with sticks, watching leaves float by and even breaking sticks into small pieces to float down the river.  I got lots of pictures of the playtime…

Sorry, I realize now that they were dressed exactly alike that day.  It is hard to tell who is who.  Most of the pictures are of Peyton, Brandon sat by, and sometimes in, the water and his pants got progressively more and more wet as time went on.  The one really good picture of Peyton (the last one) is just after he broke a stick into two pieces.  He was very proud of himself! 

The boys also played with Play-doh, which Peyton will do for hours if you let him.  Brandon likes to feed the Play-doh to Molly so you really have to watch him.  Brandon also helped with dishes this week.  So I have a few more pictures to share of them.

JORDAN

Jordan is continually improving his basketball game.  He is really pretty good.  He had 4 or 6 of the team’s 14 points this week.  He is also working on his Pinewood Derby car.  A big thanks to Nick’s dad for cutting it out for us this year.  Jordan has started to paint his car.  It will be very much what I expect out of Jordan…sleek, cool and shiny.  He is painting it will all metallic paint.  Black with silver racing stripes and gold lightning bolts on the sides.  He has the undercoats done, we are going to tape off what stays and he will paint over everything else with the black metallic paint.  He has stayed at least one night for the past two weeks at Nicks house and this week they stayed up until 3 AM or so, thus the picture of him looking exhausted.

 

KAMRON

I hate to say that I don’t remember how many points Kamron made in his game.  I know that he had at least 2, but he also had a few amazing passes.  He is getting control of that body that has grown so much in the last year (well the feet have grown a lot!!)

After helping some people at church move, Kamron was lucky enough that it was his turn to have a father-son night out.  They went to the Carolina Hurricanes game in the RBC center.  They really had fun.  Unfortunately the Canes lost, but that didn’t spoil the evening for my guys.  They took lots of pictures, but I chose only a few.  They took a picture of the zambonie because Kamron is almost certain that the guy driving it was his Social Studies teacher, Mr. Boriotti (who has a part time job working the ice at the RBC center.)  All in all it was a great week!

B…B…Basketball!!

Okay so the stutter is because of how cold it has been this week.  We have had 6 or 7 days with temps dipping below freezing.  Which to some isn’t that bad (I think I heard that in Bismarck, the wind chill was –52 degrees at one point this week.)  We had a light snow forecasted for Friday, but no snow fell.  The boys did get to go to school on a 2 hour delay though, so everyone was happy!

Basketball has started again….they both won this week!!

KAMRON

Kamron is #20 and is the one with the black sleeves under the goal – ready to box out his man.  One of the boys on Kamron’s team is a little jealous of how big Kamron’s feet grew over the summer.  He is taller than Kamron but has smaller feet.  Who knows how much longer that will be the case, but Kamron is enjoying while he can and thinks that it is really funny.

Kamron spent much of his time this week on the computer and texting (see pic on left.)  He went to a deacon-beehive activity Saturday night and even played in his first YM basketball games on Saturday morning.  It was a week of new experiences and I think he enjoyed it!

JORDAN

Jordan is #15 and handles the ball really well.  He is the blurry one with the ball in the picture one the right.  I had one mom tell me, “I knew Jordan was good, but I didn’t know he was that good.”

Jordan is on a team with his best friend, Nick.  He is the boy that Jordan is pointing to in this picture.  They are both really good.  Nick hit a 3 pt shot during the game and was grinning from ear to ear. 

Also…Jordan started Piano this week.  He is taking lessons with the same teacher that Kamron has.  He is really excited.  He got what Kamron called “The First Lesson'” this week.  He still hasn’t played any notes, but we are happy that he is willing to learn!  Go Jordan…and remember to practice!

 

PEYTON

Peyton got a hair cut this week.  Hence the before and after pictures.  He looks really handsome, although, Kamron didn’t know who he was in the After Picture.  Peyton enjoyed his Primary class at church again this week and drew some really cute pictures where he also tried to spell his name.  See his name above the guy in the first picture?

 

 

BRANDON

Everyone in our family, with the exception of David, has been sick.  It has been one after the other and poor Brandon is on his second go ‘round.  I had to take him to the Dr. this AM because he was wheezing.  They did a breathing treatment and gave him some antibiotics for the ear infection that I didn’t know he had, and an inhaler to use for the next few days.  He has not been happy about getting medicine and tonight was no exception.

You might also notice that he has also had a hair cut and no longer has those oh, so cute  curls.  They were getting out of hand and FRIZZY!  So they are gone.

Thanks to Ma Lou, David and I were able to go out to dinner with our neighbors Saturday night and had a very nice and fun date night.  WE love our Ma Lou!!
